Seal: Love's Divine Meaning
Love's Divine Lyrics
and I felt my spirit break
I had lost all of my belief you see
and realized my mistake
but time threw a prayer to me
and all around me became still
I need love, loves divine
please forgive me now
I know...

At first I thought maybe this was written from Jesus' perspective but that can't be. The rainstorm, I believe, was his finding fame in music. He made sacrifices with his music (as happens in the industry) to get things recorded and thereby lost (or conceded) his beliefs in how he wrote. He was aware of it but helpless and it broke his spirit. Time threw him a prayer and gave him a break and more control over his own music. All became still ( he was no longer at odds with himself over his music). Now he just needs love (from the fans I suppose) to know who Seal really is and that his music is really good (to help me know my name). Through fame came sanctuary (from those who meddle in ones artistic ability) and he felt his spirit fly. He had found his reality and learned what it takes. Now he will no longer bend or break in his artistic beliefs because he has overcome his need for approval but he does still need his fans support to know who he is and that his music is good (my name). He had tried to tell people nothing was wrong before but knew he was just lying to himself to get his music recorded. The message is clear, all he really needs is his fans.
