Serj Tankian: Saving Us Meaning
Saving Us Lyrics
Why do we sit around and
Break each others hearts tonight,
Why do we dance around
The issues till the morning light,
When we sit and talk and
Tear each others lives apart,
You were the one to tell me go,
But you were...

In this song Serj Tankian helps us open our eyes to see the problems in the world today. These problems are being ignored though they should be seen as extremely urgent.
-
I interpret this is AMERICA NOW!! The government is "killing us, "you're tearing us". We are DIVIDED IN AMERICA. IT IS IN BLACK AND WHITE.THE SUPPRESS OF INFORMATION BECAUSE OF THE LEFT FOR DECADES. TERRIBLE!!
-
The way I see this song is a commentary on America's internalized sense of moral superiority. We look down upon the homeless and those who are less fortunate than us because we believe that they are in that situation because they are lazy and a bad worker. And because of that we see ourselves as better people, yet we also fail to realize that we have just as many problems in life and because of that we shouldn't be so judgmental of the people around us
-
This song basically is saying that everyone has problems with life and the world so we dont care about others problems, even if someone is eating froma bin to survive.
