Sheryl Crow: I Shall Believe Meaning
I Shall Believe Lyrics
And lay your hands over me
Even if it's a lie
Say it will be alright
And I shall believe
I'm broken in two
And I know you're on to me
That I only come home
When I'm so all alone
But I do believe
That not everything is gonna be...

I have seen her 6 times live so she had said at a concert in Ottawa that this song was about her faith in God, plain and simple..you would think that the lyrics are clear as water on that lol..and in my favorite song by her 'the difficult kind' it's about her ex that wanted her to leave the music industry for his church beliefs..thankfully for all of us she pursued her dreams..that she mentioned at the 2004 concert in Atlantic City and for any of you that were there that night you will remember her words..she said 'such a pretty song about such a stupid jerk' lolol

My interpretation is that this girl is having a really hard time dealing with life and she’s asked God to open up to her and show his face tonight and She will believe she’s talking to God asking for help. Then the part where she says I only come home when I’m so all alone. Like she only prays to God when she has problems and she’s asking him not to give up on her. To believe
