Starset: My Demons Meaning
Song Released: 2013
My Demons Lyrics
The ship is slowly sinking
They think I'm crazy but they don't know the feeling
They're all around me,
Circling like vultures
They wanna break me and wash away my colors
Wash away my colors
Take me high and I'll sing
Oh...

To me, it sound like he is suffering from depression. When I heard this song it was my first thought.
-
I believe the song is about a person who is stepping out into a new experience. The person is a bit insecure about being successful; it's a risk. However there is another person, very close to this person, who is his/her inner strength, that builds his/her confidence and is trusted because this supporter faciltates his/her goals. This is a tribute to the facilitator, promising that pne day, the facilitator will be rewarded with PRIDE by the success of the person.
There is a quiet understanding between the two; so deeply connected they are almost "one and the same". The trust level is so high that the writer KNOWS his/her dreams will be supported.
The writer's confidence comes from his/her "savior". S/he is going to risk a chance on dream, that they both believe is within his/her reach.
However, if there comes a time, when the writer gets lost along the path, s/he is counting on a "savior"/ the "trusted" to do as usual and save the writer. -
I believe that the man is being haunted by demons in his house and he's trying to get a preist in to get rid of his demons
