Stevie Wonder: Lately Meaning
Lately Lyrics
With no vivid reason here to find
Yet the thought of losing you's been hanging
'Round my mind
Far more frequently you're wearing perfume
With you say no special place to go
But when I ask will you be...

This is such a heavy song with heavy lyrics. Well-written and full of emotions. It’s obvious it’s about someone suspecting that his partner is cheating on him. My interpretation is that Stevie, being a blind person, wrote this song to tell a story of a blind person being cheated on. Helpless, clueless, can’t do anything much. The lyrics - lately i’ve been staring in the mirror, for me is an irony. Like how can a blind person see himself through a mirror? Hence it’s really amazing that this masterpiece even used some figures of speech in its lyrics. And the lyrics - my eyes can’t let me hide, ‘cause they always start to cry - another obvious sentiment of someone whose eyes cannot do anything but to shed a tear.

Anothrr song of heartbreak!
They see their partner slipping away.
The thought of losing you is hanging around in my mind...THERE MUST BE GREAT CLUES THE LOVE IS GONE.
Are you coming back soon, you don't know never know...AN UNSURE ANSWER...NOW THAT HURTS!
Looking in the mirror slowly picking me apart...SELF BLAMING!
But what I really feel my eyes won't let me hide
'Cause they always start to cry GET A GOOD CRY!
'Cause this time could mean goodbye, goodbye!
THEN MAKE IT A FINAL GOODBYE...SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!

Outstanding track!
The way the lyrics are so soulfully written and sung basically are fitting for those of us who are in a relationship which is fading away and you are suspecting the reasons why..
Beautifully sung!
