System of a Down: Dam Meaning
Dam Lyrics
Stay away from me
I got a disease
Everyone is sleeping
Fuck you
For putting hate in me
For putting faith in me
Everyone is sleeping
Everyone is sleeping
Everyone is sleeping
Everyone is sleeping
-
Personally, I think it is about how a person with a mental illness had killed several people while they didn't notice. And blamed god for giving him the illness. Them dying being the "everyone is sleeping" part. And the "for putting faith in me" part was about how they were a very religious person. Maybe christian. I don't know.

they want us to think soad are an interpretational group they can be anything you want them to be in your mind. In that case i think dam is based on a nightmare daron had...I think the world and his band are all dead in this instance "sleeping" and he is infected with a similar virus they could've died from as well.

I think I'm alone in this but I think it is about a regretful cult leader who hates them (his followers)
for putting faith in him and committing suicide and tells the rest to stay away because he has a (mental) disease -
This song is abount HIV (Aids)
-
I think Dam is about a human who got bitten by a zombie and is now cursing him as he slowly turns into one.
Everyone is sleeping means the dead humans around him who didnt turn to zombies yet, while hes slowly dieing himself. -
A truly rare song, only appearing on their first demo tape. It never reached the first album.
