System of a Down: Violent Pornography Meaning
Violent Pornography Lyrics
Everybody, everybody, everybody fucks.
Everybody, everybody, everybody livin' now.
Everybody, everybody, everybody sucks.
Everybody, everybody, everybody livin' now.
Everybody, everybody,...
-
The meaning I get out of it is that life is like a violent pornography, cause everyone's getting fucked up the ass.

I agree with the idea that this song is about the violence and sex in the media. Although one line in the song that has confused me about this song for awhile and I haven't seen mentioned here is the "non-stop disco" lines. Now that I think about it, this seems like a reference to MTV who (at least they used to) plays non-stop music videos.
-
I believe that this song is putting down TV shows that use sex to help huge corporations make money and to line the executives of the shows pockets. It talks about how we are desensitized to sex and violence.
-
People suck these days, sex is rampant, everyone is depressed for some reason, and a lot of people are dying (everybody sucks/fucks/cries/dies). Everyone also doesn't really care (non-stop disco) and giant companies (Nabisco) are helping the above happen behind the scenes (betcha didn't know). This is all because of TV, which has been degenerated to nothing better than violent pornography (chorus). It is brainwashing the masses (can you say brainwashing) and you should "turn off the TV".
-
I think that it's about the content shown on television, media, ads,.etc and how it brainwashes people and gives them a completely different mentality and viewpoints of things.

I think it's glaringly obvious: It's about vulgar media corruption of the masses. There're lyrics all throughout the song that suggest that.
-
Well I think this song is about "the kinda shit you get on your t.V". Basically, lol.
Their probably jus stating a fact that their is a lot of crap, 'violent pornography', on t.V. These days.
"non-stop disco.." meaning the crap that's shown, doesn't stop.
And its true, it does brainwash a few people. "can you say brainwashing?" I can! :d -
The songs loosely based around porn on the tv, but as a few other people have said, about things being as bad as "violent pornography".
"choking chicks and sodomy" is a graphic explanation of the "violent" porn readily availabe on the tv and net.
It's true! It "brainwashes" us! Think about what watching murders, rapes, sex and shit on tv/the net does to your head. It numbs your head to it and you get used to seeing it. Sick. -

I thought that this song was about brain washing people thru porn . I thought that the gov or the media or whatever was brain washing people through porn. I guess that they chose porn because so many people watch it and that's how they get more people. I guess that they brain wash them to go to war, I dunno, I got that from the violent part of the title. "turn off your T.V."
