Shout Lyrics

Shout, shout, let it all out, these are the things I can do without
Come on, I'm talking to you, come on
Shout, shout, let it all out, these are the things I can do without

In violent times, you shouldn't have to sell your soul
In black...

It talks about a desperate need of freedom in a world where your role is set even after being born. A world that expects you to be a productive worker and bear with all the pain and the anxiety in silence. A need to shout, to give all this loneliness away. Because it is not right that you have to break up with the life they expect you to live so as to enjoy yourself, it is not fair for you to be afraid of losing everything and dissappoint people around you if you choose another way to live. Happiness and life should be simplier, feeling free should be easier

Somehow the "protest" interpretation, even though it comes from the band themselves, doesn't fully cut it

It is okay to be angry when things are not going your own way and we often to get mad at times. In violent times makes us to be a different person even though it is very scary at times. As cold as ice feeling inside of a person when a person who is feeling way to cold only thing it knows about shouting over on a cold sholder in a way. In every tale of a person's life we always respond to things differetly at times. whatever the situation of that person going through in life.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
