The All-American Rejects: The Last Song Meaning
Song Released: 2003
The Last Song Lyrics
Can you hear me smiling when I sing this song?
For you and only you
As I leave will you be someone to say good-bye?
As I leave will you be someone to wipe your eye?
My foot is out the door...
-
I feel that the other two are correct, where he has a rough break up with a girl he liked. "my foot is out that door and you cant stop me now" (weather that line is correct or not its something of the sort. He's trying to just have one decision on the break up and not reconsider. He hopes that she will still remember him in a good way "i still hope that you will miss me when im gone" (self explanitory) and other good times. "you want the best; it wasn't me" saying he wasn't the best guy for her but he hopes that she will still remember him as a good person.
-
I think that this song is about a break-up and after he leaves he still hopes that she will realize that she lost him and misses him even if they don't get back together she'll keep the good memories in mind.
-
This song resembles a lost love after a long hardship. The couple breaks up and the girl simply doesn't care about the guy anymore. The guy loves her to pieces and is hoping that she'll miss him, remember what she had with him, and come back.
