Linger Lyrics

If you, if you could return
Don't let it burn, don't let it fade
I'm sure I'm not being rude
But it's just your attitude
It's tearing me apart
It's ruining everything

I swore, I swore I would be true
And honey so did you
So why you were...

While this song is a beautiful song that expresses a lot of emotion, The song is not as much about his infidelity, as it is about her jealousy and insecurities. "why were you holding her hand?", is she 13? Now I will grant you that there is "holding hands" as compared to "HOLDING HANDS", but really, unless there is something else this is a very immature love. Then the line: "Were you lying all the time, was it just a game to you?", and; "Trying not to lie." what lies? No where is there an indication that he lied, other than she said so. She's making up stuff in her head to justify her feelings.

    Geezz ..
If I may interject ever so briefly, first , My confession..merely trying to type my thoughts right now, I'm having great difficulty communicating my personal insight on the topic at hand.."Lyric Interpretation".."concentrate- cohesive thoughts cohesion I tell myself..uh... after perusing the other decipherings,or uh umm "viewpoints",ok they must be from children ,surely ,right? Ohh myy.. my thought for this song, perhaps the one she's referring to, in private,it's so wonderful and dreamy lovingness, she's gah gah over whom ever, who treats her as a love, she tells and gives all of her heart, gives all of her whatever, she's told and believes they're of one accord, on the same page, going by the same book,so now she's realized hmmm not true, however she cannot NOT love or stay away from whomever, eventhough whomever refuses the exclusivity that she desires ..probably a person just being used but too in love to realize ...YET!! LOL..nevertheless HER feelings are real and true, and real love is just beyond beautiful as stated in the lyric but even more beautiful is feelings of hurt and of love that's being expressed by this singers gorgeous hauntingly eerie voice .. I absolutely adore this song, the Lyrical style, the Music, 100% everything!! Thanx

I've read that the singer was in the airport and she sat next to a lady that had farted uncontrollably and she asked her 'Do ya hafta, do ya hafta let it linger?'. It's just what I read. Pretty deep.

She was involves with someone but not exclusive although she fell very hard for him. She saw him holding hands with another woman and she is describing how it hurt and despite the pain, her feelings were still there

it's tell us about story of the relationship, the man is cheated and the woman can't let him go because she loves him too much . She hopes the man could make it clear and stop cheating on her
