The Four Seasons: December 1963 (Oh What a Night) Meaning
Song Released: 1976
December 1963 (Oh What a Night) Lyrics
Late December back in '63.
What a very special time for me,
'Cause I remember what a night.
Oh, what a night.
You know, I didn't even know her name,
But I was never gonna be the same.
What a lady. What a night.
Oh,...
-
I always thought about a guy who lose his virginity. The lines "seem so wrong but feel so right" leave me thinking that sex in those times was still a little tabu and that's why he thought it was worng but it liked it so much.

Late December = Christmas
"Oh what a lady, what a night" = "What a lady of the night".
So he got a hooker for Christmas.
-
According to the co-writer and longtime group member Bob Gaudio, the song's lyrics were originally set in 1933 with the title "December 5th, 1933," and celebrated the repeal of Prohibition,[1] but the lyrics were changed at the urgings of Frankie Valli and lyricist Parker to reposition the song as a nostalgic remembrance of a young man's first affair with a woman, and, more specifically, Gaudio's courtship with his wife, Judy Parker. from Wikipedia

Being with a prostitute.
-
It’s definitely about a one night stand ... brings back memories
-
I thought 'ended much too soon' refers to premature ejaculation
-
It's about courtship with his wife. "Didn't know her name" means he was interested but he didn't meet her yet. The rest of it is how emotions made him feel. The night ended before he could meet her. It's a song written by one of the band members and his future wife.
-
It's about a dude re-calling a one-night stand. ("You know, I didn't even know her name.") He talks about remembering what she looks like and how she walked to the bed and stuff. "I, I get a funny feeling when she walks into the room", "She was everything I'd dreamed she's be"), etc. He then talks about the disappointing morning after. "It ended much too soon."
Anyone else agree? -
This song is about the songwriter and band member of the four seasons, Bob Gaudio losing his virginity to a one night stand whilst on tour with the group. The song also indicates he didnt "last" very long:
Oh i got a funny feeling when she walked in the room
And i, as i recall it ended much too soon. -
According to the play "Jersey Boys" the song is about band member and song writer Bob Gerardi losing his virginity while on tour with the group.
