The Killers: Be Still Meaning
Be Still Lyrics
And go on to bed
Nobody knows what lies ahead
And life is short
To say the least
We're in the belly of the beast
Be still
Wild and young
Long may your innocence reign
Like shells on the shore
And may your limits be...

The song could be as well in line with the Buddhist world view, but not exclusively. On "the belly of the beast" : see the picture of 12 links of dependent arising. It is samsara, the belly of the beast. May be a coincidence...
-
I interpret it as dying as in be still, soon enough you’ll be on your own , rise up like the sun etc but that’s just me
-
When life gets hard, never forget who you are.

"Be still" obviously means stay calm.
"the belly of the beast" likely refers to a person's lowest point in their life.
"limits be unknown" means keep pushing, ignore what others say.
"efforts be your own...Don't break character"- authenticity.
"Is this real...?" it will have felt like a dream when it is over.
"Rise up like the sun and labor" probably means to stick to your routine, keep going, and not stop, work hard each day.
"Was there something out there for me?"- you're not alone but between the two of us, you'll succeed first.
The second half of the song keeps reiterating to keep pushing through anything life throws at you. A good song for people who feel hopeless. -
