The Killers: Losing Touch Meaning
Losing Touch Lyrics
Convince me that the truth is always grey
Caress me in your velvet chair
Conceal me from the ghosts you cast away
I'm in no hurry
You go run and tell your friends I'm losing touch.
Fill their heads with rumors of...

I think it is about killing the relationship with somebody you don't want to know anymore, and talking about it with someone who knows the first person too, seeking for consolation. You hate the person you are trying to remove from your life, but it hurts because of the memories it left you, and seek someone to replace it in the second one, also trying to make sure, that the new one wouldn't betray you nor let you down. By the first person I don't mean a life partner or so, rather "friends" that come out to be assholes and/or idiots. Personal, life-based interpretation.

Definitely a song about not being able to trust anyone. Especially, that one person you thought you could always trust to have your back.

I don't think it's all that dark and complicated man. First, this song is super sarcastic and is basically about the way most of the world can't handle people not being sheep. The moment you don't see the world through the same indifferent lens as everyone else, they think you need a padded room.
The reality is most of the Western world is off their nut and consistently trying to solace themselves in meaningless pursuits - running in circles and trying to hide their pain, shame, etc with things like video games and porn. I think this song comes from the perspective of someone who doesn't buy it anymore and those around them are freaking out - telling rumors, claiming the life of the narrator is doomed because they no longer wish to fit the mediocre mold. -
It’s about the shady world conspiracy.
The truths we’re told that are lies, therefore, “convince me that the truth is always grey” “caress me in your velvet chair” is how we are all taken it by modern comforts that blind us to the real spiritual dimensions we are taught to believe are not real - “Conceal me from the ghost you cast away”
He’s not in any hurry because the time of revelation is upon us, but anyone that speaks of these things is a crazy conspiracy nut,
“I'm in no hurry, you go run
And tell your friends I'm losing touch
Fill their heads with rumors of impending doom
It must be true”
2012 – The impending doom that Hollywood and the media has pushed upon us, maybe it is true.
“I wonder what you got conspired
I'm sure it was the consolation prize”
what are the governments, rulers plans for us, what do they have conspired, consolation prize is about how we are babysat and kept in the dark about things that they believe for whatever reason we are unable to deal with. Etc… -
I think the song is about truly losing it. No getting your pain and being done with it. How a good deed just goes crashing down. As it say in the musical Wicked "no good deed goes unpunished" which i think is the meaning.Thoughts?
