The Killers: Read My Mind Meaning
Song Released: 2007
Read My Mind Lyrics
Just tryin' to keep it in line
You say you wanna move on and
You say I'm falling behind
Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?
I never really gave up on
Breakin' out of this two-star town

First things first, what an amazing song, both lyrics and everything about it, it shows a lot of emotion.
There are two lines in the song that really reflect on a person’s point of view in a relationship.
‘Just tryin’ to keep it line’ suggests that he/she is trying to keep it together, stay well and keep under control from breaking.
‘You say you wanna move on and, you say I’m falling behind’ this suggests that he/she wants to do anything but move on, and the other person suggesting look, I’ve moved on, so what don’t you, kinda thing.
‘Before you go, can you read my mind?’ meaning think twice about how I feel and what you want before you leave or do something you regret.
‘I don’t shine if you don’t shine’ simply suggests that if you’re not happy then I’m not happy either, I am not quite my best if your not.
Great song, the Killers are amazing. -
When I first heard this song, I figured it was something like the what the interpreters above me though, but upon a second, third, fourth, fifth, and so on listen, I began to think it's about someone about to commit suicide (before you jump, a trampoline, pack my bags before I fall, ect.), but this girl in his life is kinda making him hesitant.
-
I think this is about a guy who is dating this girl who wants to break up. He doesn't want it to end. He doesn't want to tell her that he still loves her and wants to stay togethe. He is afraid of revealing his feelings, he hopes she knows him well enough to figure it out on her own.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
