When You Were Young Lyrics
Waiting on some beautiful boy to,
to save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now ... here he comes!
He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentleman
Like you imagined when...

This song is about a girl who has had one or two bad relationships. She fantasizes about a boy who is nice looking or handsome to come take her away from her current situation. She also feels she is not a good person. Before she knows it he comes into her life. He doesn't look perfect in ever way like she imagined when she was young. They feel that together that can escape or conquer obstacles if they work together and take it slow and there're love will always grow stronger and stronger. Sometimes when she closes her eyes she remembers where she used to live meaning she remembers who she used to be. A small part of her misses who she was but the boy tells her that it's ok. Who she used to be wasn't so sweet and that she doesn't have to be that way right now. But it's ok once in a while. What the boy is saying is he sees that she is struggling with who she is. She wants to make a complete lifestyle change for the better but is having a hard time. By telling her once in a while is saying that I love you for you unconditionally and won't love you any less if you go back once in a while.
I said he doesn't look a thing like Jesus He doesn't look a thing like Jesus But more than you'll ever know.
These lyrics mean that she found who she always wanted even though he didn't appear to be like she imagined but he loves her more than she will ever know.
Beauty is within................................. -
In the beginning when it says ""when you sit there in heart ache, waiting on a beautiful boy to save you from your old ways" I think basically means that you can't just sit there even when your not happy, b.c its not going to come to you, you have to go look for yourself jus as in the video she went to meet another guy in the bar. and now she has what she wanted wen she was young. This has to do nothing with drugs!
I think I'm right.. but who knows lol -

The is an expression that in marriage a woman expects her man to love her like Christ loved the Church. I think the verse of "he doesn't look like a thing like Jesus, but he talks like a gentleman" is a reflection on this. Though he may not look like Jesus, who does, he may be the next best thing, and will love her in this way.

I think this song is about Bonnie and Clyde.
-
I think the song is about a man who is seeing a woman that is in a relationship with an older abusive guy but she is terrified to leave him and she preys to jesus to save her and send her someone to take her away and she meets a guy who is everything she has wanted but yet she is still scared to leave and the parts about the devils water is refering to him and her she doesn't have to go all the way but its ok to seem him I just say this because I'm in a situation like this and its how I feel and what the song means to me

It's a song about good sex.
-
In my mind it's about a women who is into church, and follows all the rules. But she falls for a younger guy (shes already with someone else), and seeing that this would be against everything she has, she begins to hesitate. And this younger guy isn't exactly what religion wants but she likes him anyways.
So its kind of a romeo and juliet thing -
I think this song is about a girl who is probably an alcoholic or has some other addiction or problem. She meets this boy who is helping her to overcome this problem, but she is too depressed to notice how wonderful he is. She knows he is a good person and she loves him, but she does not see how truely wonderful he is. The end of the song says "he doesn't look a thing like Jesus, but more than you'll ever know" I think this refers to the fact that he really is much more amazing than she'll ever be able to see.
-
I think the girl has seen so much bad in her life that when a guy comes along who isn't all that great (doesn't look a thing like jesus) but he's there for her(like you imagined when you were young), she falls for him too fast and eventually gets hurt again.
Note: my fav lines are the ones about the devil's water. what do you guys think those are about? -
This song is about a guy who has a friend that has a new relationship & she wants to know how he feels about her, he thinks he's a nice guy but, he loves her so he's not happy, but he wants her to be happy so a lot of confusion in his mind on what to say. He tells her he doesn't look like jesus, so that means he's not "perfect" but he talks like a gentleman like you imagined when you were young, which means he thinks the guy is what she would talk about what she dreamed of when they were children.
-
Well, I think that this song portrays a relationship in the video, but can cover just about any subject in life. It is about a person who had imagined what their life will be like when they grow up, they know what they want to be, where they want to live, and what kind of person they want to be with. But life is unpredictable and no matter how much you plan your life will not end up like you thought it was. In this particular video though they use a realtionship to share this message. The girl finds a guy, who doesn't seem like th one she imagined, but he nice and treats her well. But one day he cheats on her and breaks her heart. "devil's water" is that everyone makes mistakes. She thinks that this couldn't be the guy she dreamed of, but he really is.

This song reminds me of an old girlfriend.
The girl in the song is a troubled girl with much emotional baggage. Even though she has many problems, she still expects and believes there will be some man who is her "Knight in Shining Armour". The song is a bit about her wanting her problems to be solved by someone else. -
I don't what the hell the song means but "machs" made me laugh haha
