The Moody Blues: Eternity Road Meaning
Eternity Road Lyrics
Hark listen here he comes
Turning, spinning, catherine wheeling
For ever changing
There's no beginning
Speeding through a charcoal sky
Observe the truth we cannot hide
Traveling eternity road
What will you find...
-
It is about the Earth traveling through space carrying it's heavy load.
The heavy load is life. "You'll see us all around", is humanity.
"Turning, spinning, catherine wheeling
Forever changing, there's no beginning
Speeding through a charcoal sky"
Describes our planets journey through space.
"Travelling eternity road
What will you find there?
Carrying your heavy load
Searching to find a peace of mind"
Is it treating Earth as a sentient being?
Are we both, humanity and Earth searching to find a piece of mind? What is our relation to each other?
In context to the rest of the album this is what makes sense to me. I am sure the only way to really know is to ask the writer, but he is gone now.
