IMHO, Lodge isn't writing about any kind of Supreme Deity but of a bit of a one-sided relationship in which love is not equally given. He pays homage to a central theme in almost all Moodies' songs, how life is ofttimes strange, sad, even depressing but through love lives can be made whole & complete. I can't recall any of their music in which they make mention in a significant way, a Higher Power. -
A wonderful MOODY BLUES song for the consciousness of mind in search for the mysterious. Who's asking and yearning for the love that was once One with God the Creator. Looking back where God was,is and always will be 'Life' itself and where the supernatural doesn't exist in nature. With who's God and love only gets confusing and strange at times, is with and when our men-made Constructions of social reality captures us and pushes us falsely ahead of ourselves, which were built and set fictitiously into our minds to appear as real, asking ourselves ''Isn't Life Strange''
