In the absence of any authoritative moral support and guidance (mother) our protagonist is left searching for justice going through stages of distress; Solutions like, publicly decrying wrongdoers, running away, and becoming physically stronger are some examples mentioned. The final lines suggest that mother will return, bringing order and protect our protagonist from further violations.
