The Offspring: You're Gonna Go Far Kid Meaning
You're Gonna Go Far Kid Lyrics
You’re getting better all the time
And turning all against the one
Is an art that’s hard to teach
Another clever word
Sets off an unsuspecting herd
And as you step back into line
A mob jumps to their feet
Now dance,...

I hate to say: "Your wrong!" but this song is obviously about a manipulative girlfriend who turns everyone against her boyfriend and lifts herself higher. The term "dancing" is just the act of her manipulating people in a very artful way, hence "an art that's hard to teach". "Hit him right between the eyes" just means to hurt him badly. Same with "sights", she is aiming to hurt him.
Finally, I think the reason why there is a reference to LOTF is because she, like Jack, is able to manipulate everyone through greed and lust to do anything, such as turning against her boyfriend. In the book Jack uses someone to kill Piggy and go after everyone that opposed him. There are many other references, but I don't have the time to point them out.
As for the music video, that's just a funny version of this song. I highly doubt that the music video REALLY holds the same meaning. Especially because it is so incredibly ridiculous and was made after the original song. -
I agree with the lord of the flies thing. Every lyric can be found in the book even the dance part. It's when Jack and his crew turn completely wild and savage and dance before eating their meal incase some forget where the dancing fits in. My god that book is screwed up. I also think this song just talks about an encounter with a vengeful leader who chooses the puppet master way then being in the spotlight.

Your Gonna go far kid Anilization
In the opening line, “Show me how to lie,” the singer states this to another person. I doesn’t really tell you who this person is but that he might be young or new because the speaker keeps calling him kid. There also seems to be deceiving going on in whatever they are doing, as he seems to be getting batter at lying. I also believe that what the kid is doing is somehow leading other people. The kid is turning all against one, which could mean he’s turning people against certain leaders. It also says that he is fairly good at changing people as when he stopped talking, a mob jumps to their feet.
In the next stanza, the singer states that the enemy or leader that the kid went after never, had a chance. I assume that the mob either killed him or left him. But, after the line “And no one even knew, it was really only you” I was lead to believe that maybe it was a political scam. And the person dressed up like someone and played the part to kill someone else. -
I think this song's about two people who hate each other and they want to kill each other, hence the lyric "There's somebody in your way and now somebody's gonna pay. And if you can't get what you want, well it's all because of me."

I think the Lord of the Flies referrence is an analogy. The Devil is known as the "Lord of the Flies" and is known for his decietful nature, which Jack from the eponymous book is too. Its about a guy who watches his best friend get slowly twisted around and destroyed by a woman he falls for, herself an aspect of the Lord of the Flies, I.E: decietful. I can't say what happened to his friend (presumably he killed himself), but to the singer its clearly her fault. So he "lets" himself be "caught" in her web, and starts to destroy her from the inside out. Dance, fuker, dance is him remarking on how she's going to have to work her way out of it, but her efforts will be futile, and he's just enjoying watching her spiral downward just like she did to his friend.

I always imagined it as a kid that was bullied and a. killed himself or b. a school shooting took place. Just what I thought.

I simply think It's about war how out leaders have men go into war and have to follow orders no matter what songs mean something different to everyone and that's what its intended for. For the listener to make it personal. So you can decode it all day weather it be about a book or war it will not change how it makes you feel or what it means to you so just enjoy it.

You are all wrong. This song is about a girl. A girl who get the singer to love her, then breaks his heart. Then the girl gets the singer's friend to fall in love with her. This girl tricks everybody into thinking she's amazing. The singer is the only person who has figured her out. This girl gets angry when she doesn't get exactly what she wants, and the singer is trying to make sure ahe doesnt get anything.
Songs have many different meanings. Its different to every person. What does this song mean to you? What does any song mean to you? Slow down, listen to every song you can. Find out what they mean. Trust me, its so much better.

I think this song is about a murder, liar, manipulator, assasin, or all of them put together...The lyrics obviously state this. He/She takes advantage of people's trust, becomes highly respected to get away with their plan. "And know even knew it was really only you".

It is, in fact a song about Lord of the Flies, as can be seen in the lyrics. It's the Beast, or Lord of the Flies, singing to the kids on the island, telling each that they will be fine and live through the situation, while many die because of the advice the Beast is giving them. The last verse is a "Goodbye" to Ralph and Jack (as they escape the island), and a reminder that the Beast can never leave them, and will corrupt them no matter how civilized they think they are.

It even says...in certain description of the book The Lord of the Flies. That it inspired the song. And it should have been obvious when it very literally said: Lord of the flies in the song... :| It's about jack merridew and how he like turned everyone against Ralph. And yeah in the music video it has the guy playing a guitar and all that crap but they can't put the full movie in a music video. No one would understand. So they went with a different route. I thought that was obvious...

I think it's about a kid that is very good at manipulating people without them even realising and the person singing is watching this kid and appears to be the only one who can see them for what they really are
"show me how to lie, you're getting better all the time"= the singer wants some lessons of the kid cuz they're really good (possibly bitter/sarcastic)
The change when they sing "I never had a chance" i think shows that the singer tried to stop the kid but got 'finished' like everyone else .
" you're gonna go far kid" shows how manipulation is gonna get this kid far in the modern world .
I think the reference to lord of the flies shows how the situations are similar and not that the song is about the book.
"hit them right between the eyes" is referring to if you get close to someone through lies and deceit you can hit them "right between the eyes" or where try are weakest.
"try never really knew, it was really only you" refers to how the people being manipulated don't realise that this kid alone is pulling all the strings . -
Its is obviously about the book Lord of the Flies from the view of the protagonist Ralph.

I think this is just talking about an assasin. The assasin turning on his master/contracter meaning hes going against him
"Show me how to lie youre getting better all the time and turning all against its an art thats hard to teach"
"Slowly out of line im getting closer in your sight so play it out im wide awake its a scene about theres something in your way and now someone is gonna pay and if you cant get what you want then its all because of me"
This means that out of all the master's assasins this assasin is "out of line" the master knows that assasin is after him and hes waiting to see what the assasin will do,and that the master tries stoping him meanig "something in your way"the something is another assasin and hes going to "pay" and if the traitor dies he does not get what he wants and its because of the master.
This is kinda like the movie "WANTED" -
This is obviously about Jason Bourne.
