The Ramones: The KKK Took My Baby Away Meaning
The KKK Took My Baby Away Lyrics
Said she's going to L.A.
But she never got there
She never got there
She never got there, they say
The KKK took my baby away
They took her away
Away from me
The KKK took my baby away
They took her...

I love the beat, but I lowered it in my store when a black person walked in, I got a complex, they don't need to here kkk

One of the most controversial songs by the great punk band THE RAMONES that might have been between Joey Ramone[may he always r.i.p] and his then girlfriend that willingly went away or was stolen in some way by Johnny Ramone made to be like the KKK who took his baby away and then Joey asking the President and the F.B.I for help. It is like saying in today's political view of things that is TRUMPED over for the Coming President to say to ''The Clan'', Hey! there is a lot of heat put on me these days. So, why don't you guys just take your white hoods off and just be real with yourselves, and when they did, their faces were all black. THen the President says what in the hell happened to you guys turning black on me, and then they said, well MR.PRESIDENT we're in the yr. 2016 and today they're more of us babies that were raised within the Clan as good uncle tom's treated fairly that still have a little black in us on the inside only. So, the President said very good! can we get more of you guys come together 'cause I also feel I got a little black in me on the inside only, but it doesn't show on the outside by me spending so much of my time on the inside of this cave called the Big Whitehouse that needs a little more sunshine.

According to Markey Ramone the Johnny stealing Joey's girlfriend explanation, well in his words, "that's bull shit." The song idea was written by Joey before the girlfriend issue came out.
Joey met a black woman as a patient in a clinic he checked into. He met the woman and became close friends with her. They spent lots of time together. One day he went to see her and she was gone. The staff wouldn't tell him where she went. The floor staff kept him away from her and took her away. The staff in the clinic all wore white uniforms, like the KKK. -
The KuKluxKlan maybe guys?
-
I'm probably wrong but I think that this song could be taken as one of their girlfriends went to LA to visit and just stayed because they either met someone new or started a career.
-
Okay, whoever said that Johnny tried to apologize and Joey wouldn't accept it, during the final days of his battle with lymphoma is an idiot. Johnny said himself that he had been fighting with Joey for like 15 years. No point in making it up now.
-
This song was written before the girlfriend incident.
-
Yeah that's what it's about. KKK is just a symbol representing Johnny Ramone. But that's sad how they never made up. Even Joey's last days of life he refused to make up with Johnny. Even though Johnny repeatedly tried to apologize and make up.
-
Johnny Ramone had "stolen" Joey Ramones girlfriend Linda and Johnny had married her. This is supposivley why Joey wrote the song. Joey and Johnny both had strong political views as well, Joey was a liberal while Johnny was a Conservative. Joey and Johnny never made up.
