   The song was written when the Ramones were in UK during Christmas.. everything was shut and they had nothing to do and were really bored so they just sat in the hotel rooms and watched American movies.. Hence the.. "nothing to do no where to go... I wanna be sedated.." it was meant to be a road song... and to kill sheer boredom

   I think they wrote the song about the COVID-19 quarantine as a warning. The greatest band ever were also scientists. The movie Buckaroo Bonzai was based on The Ramones. They invented time travel, saw COVID, came back, and to protect the space-time continuum, could only write and record their greatest hit. The 24 hours was to go back before they time jumped forward.

   While Joey Ramone was high on a European tour, he got heroin but lost it (or it was stolen) and in a fit of rage, pooped in the hotel room. The other members tried to calm him down by forcing him to drink vodka laced with a small amount of LSD. After eventually succumbing to the home made sedative, the members collectively decided to write a song from his point of view during the ordeal. Thus, the song, "I wanna be sedated" was born.

   i believe the song is about Joey's OCD cuz it makes u count in weird patterns, so like the "i can't control my finger, i can't control my toes" or "I can't control my brain", and he wants to be sedated so it all stops.

   To me it sounds like its about getting high. "Nothing to do,nowhere to go,i wanna be sedated." Sounds like it,i mean what else could "sedated" mean?
