Miracle Drug Lyrics

I want to trip inside your head
Spend the day there...
To hear the things you haven't said
And see what you might see

I want to hear you when you call
Do you feel anything at all?
I want to see your thoughts take shape
And walk right...

I read it's about a kid Bono went to school with who had a disease which made it impossible to move. Eventually they made a drug which let him move his neck and he was able to write all sorts of poems which he had thought of while watching everything else...yeah...

Blue is correct. This kid had this disease, and his mother, no matter what, stood by this kid because she believed in a drug that would help him. In the end, it turned out that this drug was his mothers love. "of science and the human heart, there is no limit, there is no failure here sweetheart, just when you quit" it's saying that with the help of his mothers love and science, this boy was able to make it, without giving up. Every time I hear this song it makes me cry because it has such a beautiful meaning.

It's about a kid with a disease that makes him unable to move at all. But his mother believes in him and sticks by him, and they make a drug that helps him move his neck. It turned out that all those years that he was unable to move, he had been writing stories and poems in his head and when he could move he began to write them. He was brilliant and he actually had a lot of things stored in his mind. Bono's saying that "the songs are in your eyes" meaning that the boy had been thinking up songs and stories for years even though he hadn't been able to move.

i'm sure this song has its roots on aids, and that would probably make more sense. if you listen to this song from another perspective, like when you are in love, this song talks about how we get so jaded over relationships that we go through; and how that one person comes along that turns your life around and you just can't help but smile and be thankful for life. anna, you are my miracle drug.

Yes, this song is about healing through the heart, mind, spirit, science, etc.
That story about the young boy is a great discovery. A poet huh. "Want to trip inside your head, spend the day there..., to hear the things you haven't said, and see what you might see." Great stuff. Once when they did it live Bono dedicated the song to Pope John, who had just passed away. These guys are good!
