We The Kings: Skyway Avenue Meaning
Skyway Avenue Lyrics
This night is all we've got
Drive fast until we crash
This dead end life
Sweet dreams that won't come true
I'd leave it all for you
Brick walls are closing in
Let's make a run tonight
Blinded by the...

#1 top rated interpretation:While the lyrics themselves describe a morib, depressing song about suicide I don't think it has much to do with actually killing yourself. Also, a big factor of me thinking this are the final lyrics "we have made it through."
This is a song of two teenagers madly and crazy in love with each other. They're not happy with their life, bt love each other. They live every minuete like it's the very last. They just want to get away from their problems and life.
The singer sings about how whatever the girl does, he will also do. He would even die for her.
They don't want to die, they want to fly, as the lyrics clearly state.
They want to take risks and be crazy and show each other how much they care<3
This song is not about killing yourself, but showing that anything can happen when you're in love. e.g, if you jump off a building a fly.
It's so beautiful. -

#2 top rated interpretation:This song is about two lovers who are both tired of their seeminly useless lives. They make a suicide pact saying if one decides to kill themselves, the other will too. ("If you jump, I will jump too.") In the end of the song they both commit suicide but finally feel like they are free and their deaths are bittersweet because they still love each other until they die.
I think the line If you jump I will jump too doesn't actually refer to killing themselves by jumping off a building or a cliff, it is about taking the risk to actually do what they have planned to do.
Overall, a beautiful, sad song, worth many listens. -
It's about a guy who is madly in love with this girl, but the girl doesn't seem to understand that at first. He's willing to be her everything, and it's not until the end of the song that she is willing to do the same for him.

I think its basically about that when you fall in love you have to take the jump to leave the world behind with them they want to leave the world behind and just forget it all and be together. I think hes sayin if she jumps as in lets go of everything to move on with him he would jump to so its like loving someone like you've never been hurt. I do think there is meaning behind he would die for her and do just about anything for her just the same.

For me its not about suicide.. it just basically means. I'll die for you. and I'll love you even in the end.
-
this song is definitely about suicide because skyway avenue is a bridge in Florida (where We The Kings are from)and alot of people jump off it to kill themselves so that information paired with the lyrics of the song you can clearly figure out that its about suicide.
CTFxC FTW :D -
its a love song but it shouldnt go with suicide there are lots of ways to show love for someone, and suicide is so not a way. what if two people actually go with that. Its an ok song but i totally disagree with the whole suicide thing
