XXXTENTACION: Depression & Obsession Meaning
Depression & Obsession Lyrics
I'm poisoned and my body don't feel well
I hate her, it's hard to love how I feel my stomach turning
Make out hill, where we met
We let our lips do all the talking and now I'm nothing
Depression and...

#1 top rated interpretation:Its about post break up feelings and emotions. When you break up with someone you love but you're not able to be with that person. You're broken hearted and depressed but you can't help but to think obsessively about them and all the feelings you had with them, when you first kissed, and all intimate moments you had together just come back again and again and that person becomes an obsession. You feel all the physical sensations and you feel helpless like you're nothing because you can never get back with that person. You hate the person for what they did to you but you can't help but to still love them

#2 top rated interpretation:The meaning of this song to me is that you’re having obsessive thoughts and obsessing over a person that has really hurt you but yet you still have deep love for them in your heart all the memories y’all have created , the bond y’all have , the things y’all did together , getting intimate everything you can think of it gets to the point where you think you can’t control how your body is feeling and your heart because it’s to strong the depression is coming in because you know no matter how bad you want it you can’t be with them and it hurts it really does fucks with you that’s why they don’t mix well
-
I interpreted it as, being in a relationship and being overly obsessed with them, you’re world revolves around them, and this spirals you down into depression, or you’ve just always had it, it doesn’t mix well. most interpretions state the other person being toxic and bad for you but i interpret it as you being the toxic person for being overly obsessed and depressed.

This songs for me talks about being in love while depressed.
You seem to try gathering energy for your loved one and are obsessed to be the best you can, overwork yourself and now look at you, falling deeper inside that hole…
Guys I feel you, please be safe you are worthy to be loved may god bless you with anything that makes you heal <3

I think the song depression and obsession is about being obsessed with something that's hurting you and still going through the motions of love. You know how much it's going to hurt when you break up... and breaking up is inevitable, but necessary for you to be happy again.
idk i think too much....maybe i'm wrong tho... -
All I have to say is that this song hits different at night, like when you had a bad day maybe at school, work, you lost a good friend, your lover left you. This'll do it. It great =)

Most beautiful song i listen to this night, so meaningful and yet allowing so many interpretations i love it

"I'm poisoned and my body don't feel well" I think he meant his my mind is poisoned from obsessing about the person and since he was depressed about it his body acted out of those feelings and emotions.
-
We all come to a point in our lives when we are obsessed with someone and we are mostly obsessed with the people we can't have which kicks in all the depression you know when you want someone very bad but can't have them it just consumes all the whole of you so that's the reason why depression and obsession don't mix well
-
You love someone in such a way you soon let your world revolve around them and when they leave you forget how things were before and soon fall into a spiral of obsessive thoughts you struggle to forget. Everything just becomes dull to you because you realise you no longer have that person by your side and the more you think about it the more the feelings start to get mixed up you hate them but love them and cant help but to lose yourself in a tumbling wave of emotions. Seeing that person talking to other people and yet you love them is like giving them a gun and trusting them not to pull the trigger and yet...they do. It leaves you broken and destroyed
-
My interpretation of the song:
You're obsessed with someone who is toxic and bad for your health, you know this but you can't do anything about it, over time you start to want that person even more, though you know you can't have them. You soon are swallowed by your own thoughts that you can't control, you can only think about what you did wrong and blame yourself for everything. You start to hate yourself and point out every flaw you have. Time comes to a stop when you begin to feel numb, you avoid people on purpose and your world is now grey. Realisation of the person you've become only breaks you down more. You've fallen so low you can't get back up. Nothing will be ok. From now on it's all down hill. It was never meant to turn out this way, but there you are walking towards the light just waiting to leave and finally be free. -
"Depression and Obsession don't mix well"
You are depressed over something you are obsessed about. -

"Hollywood Motels Hell I think I'm just obsessed with you"
Geneva - Xxxtentacion's ex girlfriend was living in a motel that her uncle owned
in Hollywood, FL and that her and X spent
several days at that motel getting to know
each other. it just added an extra layer of
sadness to the song because X yearns for someone toxic because of the pleasant memories that were made together.
"Depression and obsession don't mix well"
So simple yet so true.
