Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Maps Meaning
Maps Lyrics
I’m straight;
Enough;
Oh say, say, say;
Oh say, say, say;
Oh say, say, say;
Oh say, say, say;
Oh say, say, say
Wait, they don’t love you like I love you; wait, they don’t love you like I love...

"Pack up, I'm straight"....She's telling him that she's ok with his leaving but then contradicts herself in the very next lyric with "enough, oh say, say, say...wait they don't love you like I love you" Her true feelings are that she wants him to feel this way. She wants him to say these things because she feels this way about him.
"Pack up, don't stray, my kind's your kind, I'll stay the same" She's letting him know now that she's ok with his leaving as long as he remains faithful and to never forget that she is his, and she will stay that way, her feelings will not change. -
i picture someone who has an addiction...to someone or something that she knows isn't good for her. She tries to stay away from it but sometimes, she fails at it. After a while, her senses come back to her and realizes that she needs to try again to give it up or leave it alone. This other someone or something tells her to wait, don't go yet...no one and nothing else will love or know her as well.
"Maps" could mean that she's trying to back track to where she was before getting herself in this situation. -
MAPS stands for "My Angus Please Stay".
The story is somewhere along the lines of Karen O's boyfriend was leaving and she wanted him to stay. -
I think this song is about someone moving on, and how the guy is moving because it says "maps" so perhaps hes moving far away??
I also think that shes telling him before he moves that "they" dont love him like she does.
