Zendaya: Replay Meaning
Song Released: 2013
Replay Lyrics
Sound so good I just can't take no more
Turn it down, turn it up
I don't know, I don't know (know)
But don't stop, don't move
Just keep it there (right there)
Keep it right there, keep it right there
I wanna put you on...

#1 top rated interpretation:the original writers of the song came out and said it’s sexual but some lyrics were changed by disney because they were too sexual.
the lines
“make it stop
sound so good i just can’t take no more
turn it down, turn it up i don’t know
i don’t know”
were supposed to be
“make it stop
feels so good i just can take no more
lay me down, pick me up i don’t know
i don’t know”
the lines
“don’t stop
turn it on, turn it up, make it loud”
were supposed to be
“don’t stop
turn me on, turn me up, make it loud”
the song is very much sexual still, but less obviously so because of disney. -

#2 top rated interpretation:This is ABSOLUTELY sexual. The amount of innuendo is not accidental. If someone asked her now she'd probably say "yeah I thought I was being slick and Disney didn't notice ahahaha."
Exhibit A: The background moans. Selena Gomez did this more blatantly in "Birthday" and Disney still somehow played that. Their radar wasn't the tightest.
Exhibit B: "But don't stop, don't move/Just keep it right there." Keep what right there? If this is about just about the feeling of love, what's "don't stop" about?
Exhibit C: "Turn it on, turn it up, make it louder." "Turn it on" is about as blatant as she could get, and she got away with it because you can also "turn on" a song. "Make it louder"...think about how this all adds up.

But the thing is Disney stayed playing this song lol.they wouldn't play it if it had a inappropriate meaning behind it.
-
I don't think it is about sex. It isn't, so shut up about it lol. She loves this song, okay shush.

My interpretation is that she loves a guy and when he’s around her she wants to turn it up. It’s like he’s her beat and when he’s gone the songs off.
For the people that think she’s moaning she’s just singing. It’s part of the song. And to be honest I believe that everyone shouldn’t assume that it’s about sex. It’s not.
Even if it was then it would show that she at least loves the man she’s dating. -
Wow really people it’s about sex wrong!!!!!
It’s about her favorite song but her favorite song is a guy
Every time she turns her music on
He’s there that’s why she’s says turn up turn it down I don’t know
And when the music off he’s not there
That’s why the song is on replay -
Its about sex... most parts in there have moaning AND most of the lyrics make it sound like sex. Duh
-
It's a song about her favorite song!
She could just listen to it all day.
Some people just add moaning to their songs, and Zendaya does. It's not inappropriate like y'all were saying and it's not really that big of a deal. Y'all are just taking it the wrong way. People think everything is sexual. But this song has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's a really good dance song and in the video she's dancing like it's her favorite song. One of my faves!
Love Zendaya!!!!! -
I think she is talking about sex because she moans and says KEEP IT RIGHT THERE and DONT MOVE
