A Rocket to the Moon: Mr. Right Meaning
Mr. Right Lyrics
He doesn't make a dime all day
and all her girlfriends' boyfriends with money
What more can i say?
It's true
He never made it through a day of school
The only thing he studied was you
He knows your...

I think its more about a guy who is so close with this girl that they act like boyfriend/girlfriend, but at the end of the day she does have an actual boyfriend who wants her for her body. He is a dumbass who didn't care about school and just wanted her–he has no future–but the guy wants her to take a chance on him, a "shot in the dark". She has nothing to lose and she would be the best thing for him.

According to my perspective, the song is from the guy's point of view. In the starting, he talks about his financial backwardness, how "he doesn't make a dime all day" and at the same time, tells us that his girlfriend's friends(who are evidently girls) have boyfriends, who earn a lot.
next he talks about his love, true and deep love for his girlfriend, how he couldn't ever stop thinking about her, he often forgot about studies and got lost in thoughts about the girl.also, when he says that "he knows your body better than you do" i think it's in the most non-perverted way possible, it actually stands for the personality, as a whole.
He continues to praise the girl, whom he loves so dearly, and basically forms image of a perfect girl in our minds, a beautiful, independent girl, with a big heart.
so basically, the song tells ow the guy is imperfect according to social norms, or what the society thinks is a good boyfriend. and on the other hand, we have the girl, in her most perfect form. he sings the song, with the question "am i good enough?" in his mind.
So the chorus is based on the same theme, about how he gets over his insecurities, not completely, but to some extent and says "maybe i'm your Mr. right". although, maybe plays a key role, he does consider the fact that maybe he is right for her, maybe he does make her happy, maybe she does really like him.
however, he does not get over the fact that he is temporary, just what she thinks is right 'at the moment', "a shot in the dark" when the girl is referred to as the "morning light" the perfect figure of a lady, possibly the only good thing, or the only illuminating thing in his life.
that sums the song up! -
I think this songs refers to a bad boy, like he was narrating he's girlfriend with her good boyfriend and that it seems that the girl realizes that she was more happy with the bad boy. Though he:s the worst for her but he is the her Mr. Right.
