Alice In Chains: No Excuses Meaning
Song Released: 1994
No Excuses Lyrics
There comes a time
Got no patience to search
For peace of mind
Layin' low
Want to take it slow
No more hiding or
Disguising truths I've sold
Everyday it's something
Hits me all so cold
Find me sittin' by myself
No...

This song is about Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley, needless to say the singer and guitarist of Alice in Chains.
Cantrell and Staley had a turbulent relationship, in that Jerry Cantrell went for more pop-rock sound, and Staley went for a more underground, heavier, metal-esque group. This caused a push-pull of the groups two MVPs. "You think it's funny, well you're drowning in it too".
But through it all, they will always be friends. "Yeah, its fine Well walk down the line Leave our rain, a cold Trade for warm sunshine You my friend I will defend And if we change, well i Love you anyway".
R.I.P. Layne Staley
