All That Remains: Six Meaning
Six Lyrics
I see her in my dreams
Wish that she wasn't there
But she still haunts me and I
Still feel her breath on me
Still want to taste her skin
But I know that would kill me
No, damn her
Still I choke on her...

Six is the number of Humanity, not evil. Title is still a mystery...
-
the number 666 according to the bible is an evil number. Now, the song's name is Six, not 666. However, Six has three letters and refers to "6", so there could be a connection between the title and the number 666. There is clearly something "evil" or "bad" in this song.
Throughout the song, the lead vocalist would scream something loudly, and a softer, gentler voice would come along to co-respond with what he is saying. for example "Still feel her breath on me/ Still want to taste her skin/ (but i know that would kill me)"
it is almost as if he is saying something and then his subconscious either admits to it or contrasts it. this woman or thing that he sings of is causing or has caused him pain, but he cannot let it go.
The solo is where the song gets interesting. The artists decides that words can no longer explain what he is feeling, so they let the music do it. The music starts off soft as if he is recovering and licking his wounds. Then it gets slightly harder as if he has pushed past it and it is all behind him, then the solo goes back to how the verses were, as if he never could recover from this "six" that has been haunting him.
The song ends just like how it begins "I wish I was free of this" so the singer never recovers from what this thing or person has done to him, he can never get over what has happened and he will be forever tormented by it. this woman or thing has left him forever scarred.
