The video makes it complicated. but I THINK, in a metaphorcial sense, its about being with something that you loved but leaving it for what you think is better, and rethinking about why you left, after you missed it so much. You might understand what i mean if you just read the lyrics. The video seems to have a guy who used to fly with the birds, but gave up and decided to rid is wings to keep himself from going back because he loved the woman. OR, if angels aren't suppose to fall in love, then he must rid his status to be with his loved one. but the song is specifically about leaving a past, it has nothing to do with woman, thats just the video.
