The Time (Dirty Bit) Lyrics
(Big mega radio smasher)
(will.i.am)

A "Dirty Bit" is a computer/technology term used to describe a bit in a memory cache or virtual memory page that has been modified by the CPU, but not yet written back to storage.
This is a remix (I've Had) The Time of My Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes for the film Dirty Dancing. When they say "dirty bit" it's when they break free from the original song chorus and start remixing it... Here, the dirty bit is just introducing the original remixed section of the song. This directly parallels the computer term, as they've begun to "re-write" the song before it has had time to complete or been "written back to storage". That's also why, during the song, there's a skipping of the lyrics and beat, as if mid-stride the song was being modified. That modification is the Dirty Bit that will finally be re-written to the song making a new and complete rendition. -
I think dirt bit means the bad spot on the disk of the record singing the old song "I have the time of my life...". At the end of "... owe it all to you you you you..." sounds like it got stuck.

It means something that needs cleaned a bit. As in Tennessee we say:
"As it dirty? Dirty bit, but as not two bad I reckon."
Say it really slow. -
I think Dirty Bit stands for Dirty B**ch. It makes a transition between the girl saying that she had the time of their life and the big party girl.
-
It's a parody of dirty dancing song. It's titled Dirty Bit because it's a bit of the song from DIRTY dancing.
