Black Sabbath: Lord Of This World Meaning
Lord Of This World Lyrics
-
Geezer actually revealed in an interview that this song is based on JRR Tolkiens' Silmarillion (Lord of the Rings). The Dark Lord "Sauron" had many titles in the story and one was Lord of this World. The song lyrics definitely coincide with Saurons character and his plot to deceive the races within Middle Earth to ultimately destroy good to the point where evil could consume and rule the world.

Another great old SABBATH song about the foolishness of people who don't even know that they are serving the ''lord of this world'' on Earth. Where on that Elite devil warmonger, called the god of this world, who's possessing and influencing us to do and indulge in more evil instead of good. In that too many of us either sold out or had our souls stolen away from us without even knowing that we have been missing that part of us that's only running on empty now. From what God the Father gave us originally, that also came in and through the words of Jesus Christ. In order to know the real goodness of love again that came from above, but that we have forgotten.
