Never Say Die! Lyrics
-
l believe it's about going on, or going it alone. They recorded part of it in Toronto, and it was big secret. l was dating one the sound engineer's and he was told if anyone knew that Black Sabbath were here, he would die!! That's an exaggeration of course, but not that far off! l remember the band had broke up, well really they just fired Ozzy again for umpteenth time!! This was their last album together. They stayed in an appt. hotel just down the street from the Gasworks, t was a very big rock bar band in Toronto in the 70's! Rush did one of their first gigs there, many others, anyways the point is they were in the bar just about every day having a beer and listing to the Toronto bar bands and checking out the music scene here. l think it took them about 6months to finish the album, they spent 2 months in Toronto and only did 2 songs and they had to be remixed! l know Ozzie was just having a blast, cause he knew he was leaving the band after this, and so it took his sweet time, he even told me so, the record company's paying so let em pay. They were paying the recording studio $200.00 an hour, (that was a lot of money back in 77) and sumx Ozzie didn't even show up till the well into the 3rd or 4th hour, having a few beers at the gasworks or the El Macombo, etc... The best part was l got to party with them 4 2 months!! The first tme l spoke to Ozzie was on the phone, my boyfriend was at work, in the studio and he said here someone wants to say hi. And then Ozzie gets on the phone and says Hi Babe? how are ya, got any drugs?
wow what a time it as!! ;-))))))))))))
oh ya l've herd of this but never seen it, a glass being shattered by a voice, Ozzie broke a 3 ft.high by 2 ft. wide mirror that was about 4 inches thick with his voice! And that's the truth, l seen it!!
By the way, l'm not anonymous, it's skremmmer69
