I think it's about a mental patient , gone away to a funny farm in the country ,might have had a mental breakdown and is now in therapy in a retreat in the country, and he's popping pills and everything is going Jackanory, ie not real , and he's away from everything and everyone yet he's sad

It's about a bloke called Dave who made a few bob from music, bought his gaff ("no it's not a bloody farm")(according to his dad), who got well pissed off with the music business so spent his well earned dosh on a new start. If your cv includes Teardrop Explodes you would wouldn't you? I think Country House is a light hearted piss-take of his new life. If they'd wanted to be nasty they could have made it very clear.
