Blur: Tender Meaning
Song Released: 1999
Tender Lyrics
lying by your side.
Tender is the touch
of someone that you love to much.
Tender is the day
the demons go away.
Lord, I need to find
someone who can heal my mind.
Come on, come on, come on
get through it.
Come on, come on,...
-
The song of a pathetic drunk.
-
it is definetely about fighting heroin addiction (tender is the day the demons go away - tender is the ghost the ghost I love the most, hiding from the sun, waiting for the night to come)and trying to find the same feeling (waiting for that feeling)in the love for a woman (so that he can heal his mind). It s a similar situation to Fitzgerald's novel, but the breakdown is due to his "schizophrenia" (caused by the struggle with his addiction that is "screwing up my life") and constant affairs with heroin, that are ruining his relationship with the one woman worth fighting it (tender is the touch of someone that you love too much).
-
I've heard some stuff about it being getting over a relationship, but surely it is from F.Scott Fitzgeralds novel 'Tender is the Night'about the main male characters marriage breakown with a young women suffering from 'schizophrenia'and the subsequent affairs that both have as well as the pain both are experiencing.
