I think this song is about how he has to put many different filters of himself for ARMY. How he feels he should do this, I say this because I relate to this song very much. I used to be "girly"(which I wasn't) so since people were saying I was I kept pretending to be the person or filter everyone thought I was. I feel like it's a similar idea here, Jimin feels he has to be what ARMY sees him as, the Filter.

I think filter is about jimin trying to keep all these acts up for army when he really just wants to be his true self but is scared no one will like.
