Chris Young: Flowers Meaning
Flowers Lyrics
A little candlelight romancing with roses
But I was high up on a barstool
Yeah, I was such a blind fool, now I know it
You won't believe how much I?ve changed since you left
It took losing you for...

This is one of the saddest songs i know honestly. It’s about a drunk who changed his ways and goes to church, and quits drinking all because of one night where he decided to drive drunk and killed the woman he loved. It’s a great story because so many do drink and drive and when you listen to the song, Chris Young wants you to tell you to not let something in your life cause harm in someone else’s and don’t want til it’s too late to change.

This is a very beautiful and emotional song. And its about him reflecting on the past year, and what he had wished he'd done instead. He loved this girl, but something had happened to make him get drunk instead of taking her dancing. And afterwords, he descides to change. He goes to church now. And a year after the accident he goes to the junk yard and notices they still have the car. He wishes that he could change places with her, and wishes it was him in the grave and not her.
If you haven't heard this song yet, I encourage you to listen to it. The words have a really powerful meaning.
