Gravity Lyrics

Baby it's been a long time coming
Such a long, long time
And I can't stop running
Such a long, long time
Can you hear my heart beating?
Can you hear that sound?
'Cause I can't help thinking
And I won't stop now

And then I looked up at...

My interpretation of it is a love story between 2 people with an undeniably strong Instant connection. So strong it scares both of them because they can feel each other energetically and it only keeps getting stronger over time. They secretly long to be with one another but for years continue to go back and forth/on and off running away from each other each time the intensity grows stronger...never expressing their true feelings to each other, dating other people as distraction with thought that’s will be able to disprove the connection (assuming it’s just too good to be true) rather than to face their fears and give in to this beautiful love & divinely guided signs the universe is showing them...He was the last to run away and it hurt her. He then begins to get the sense that she could be moving on for good because he’s feeling less and less of her energetically so he is asking her telepathically if she can hear his heart beat like he can feel hers and that he’s ready and recognizes that no matter what they do gravity always pulls them back together and pushed those distractions away, and devine timing has finally come for their souls to reunite and become one.

Would say that this song is about a guy who has been chasing a girl for a quite long time.
But the girl didn't give herself up.
It has happened for a quite long time that maybe the guy felt tired and almost give up on her.
How he actually wanted the girl to know his deep desire and affection towards her, which she didn't realize.
Or maybe she realized it but just want to play with the guy's heart and mind.
But he is just smart enough to stop all the tortures he made for himself and stop the run.
Realizing the gravity he thoughts pulling him and her on the same direction, could also push them away from each other.
    -end of the story.

To me this song is about someone that has had a troubled life, not being able to settle and find a place in this world, he keeps on searching, but after a long time running he finally finds a home, which is next to the that special person he's being looking all his life, he finally feels alive, and understands the world better, the way that everyone is meant to be with an specific person, something inevitable just like gravity. He finally tells to that special person that he's going to be there when she cant find a way out of trouble, reminding her that she's alive and she is loved. It's beautiful the way everyone is made for someone, being the refuge of each other.

I am a female. I sent this song to a man I met via WWF. We only had only an Internet connection, and strangely I fell in totally and completely in love with him...it was a powerful experience. In the beginning he asked me if I felt his vibes when we texted. Wow, I not only felt them, but I felt them DEEPLY. He either didn't feel the same, or was afraid to express his feelings to me. I felt him pulling me, I felt my opposite pull on him. We are no longer speaking, but I cannot forget him. He did not respond to me sending the song, which certainly expressed my love to him. Maybe someday, I will never lose hope. He was part of my soul and wow, that's beautiful!

I think it is about regret. In his dreams is the only way she visits him. He is haunted by her but he broke her heart by walking away from her. He is now willing to give her what she gave him. He thought he could walk away but he can't let go. Now he is chasing a dream. He realizes he took her for granted. I think the video is played backward...

The girl clearly has a happy life or maybe not happy but she is a free soul, someone who doesn't want a commitment right away. She meets the guy who is really needy, sad, depressed, unhappy, she knows it but she is willing to be with him because she just wanted to, they did like each other. Although the girl keeps leaving and coming back, she never left completely at all, maybe did not want to feel chained to him (emotionally) (idk). The guy is never really happy as we see it because he wants her around, he seems happy when they are together but gets sad when she leaves.

The girl decides to stay (after she realizes she really wants this guy, maybe because past relationships it was hard to trust people but hey! she wants to stay!! even though she didn't like commitment she stays) and by the time she has giving herself in and feel connected with the guy, he leaves. Why? I'm sure because he thought he was gonna become as happy as she did first, he thought that she staying was gonna make him happy but nope, he was still lost and did not know what he wanted to do with her, or just maybe he wasn't the one ready for commitment, he wanted to feel happy not a commitment relationship with problems and whatever is part of it,so he leaves.

People need to communicate better, both sides, have a very clear mind of what's happening in the relationship, understand each other's needs and wants....not just dance around or making assumptions.
However, there is not a bad side and good side, her fault or his fault, the lack of interest from one of them means there is a clearly problem going on with that person.

Love is free, don't force someone to love you nor force someone to love you, whoever stays for good it's because they made that choice. - end of the story

To me it is about a guy who fell in love with this girl before she died, and now he has to live on. The girl is not as detailed for most of the video, which could symbolize her being a memory. Then at the end the guy dies when he becomes less detailed, possibly from suicide, and it turns out that the girl was alive, but she came back too late. It's a sad story.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

If you watch the video for it I think you'll understand it better. But my interpretation is this man is hopelessly in love with this woman. "The way that gravity pulls on you and me" and then "the way that gravity pushes on you and me" - if you see in the video, the girl "pulls" him towards her and then will leave him hanging, or "push" him away. And if you watch the whole video through at the end you'll see she runs into his arms and then he pushes her away basically saying "no, you've played me like a fool and I'm tired of it so I'm moving on from you."

Hope this helped in some way :)

When watching the video... The dance makes me think of 1) past loved ones and/or 2) soul mates.

To me its about letting out all the emotions you've kept inside. Remembering what hurts the most, but moving on. letting go even if the pain will never leave. Be strong live on fall in love:')
