Song Released: 2012
Hurts Like Heaven Lyrics
"Do you ever get the feeling that you're missing the mark?"
It's so cold, so cold
It's so cold, so cold
Written up in marker on a factory sign
"I struggle with the feeling that my life isn't...
-
I am going try to explain as well as I can (because I do not speak frequently english) my point of view about the meaning of coldplay song Hurts Like Heaven.
written in graffiti on a brige in the park
do you ever get the feeling
that you're missing the mark?
it's so cold so cold,
so cold so cold
written up with marker on a factory sign
struggle with the feeling
that my life isn't mine.
it's so cold,so cold
so cold so cold!
~in these lyrics,we are being told about his feeling of pressure and depedence from the others.he feels like everybody plays a role in his life and choices except from him.he thinks he lives without a clear goal and has lost the meaning of life.
See the arrow that they shot, trying to tear us apart
Took the fire from my belly and the beat from my heart
Still I won't let go, still I won't let go
You, yes, you do
~here he refers to the others who criticised him for his choice and try to make him "a physiological man" in their tastes,of course! he "fights" them because he has a new, strange, beautiful feeling:LOVE.
On every street, every car, every surface are names
And now the streets arise and we're writing the same
Don't let them take control
No, we won't let them take control
Yes, I feel a little bit nervous
Yes, I feel nervous and I cannot relax
How come they're out to get us
How come they're out when they don't know the facts
~above,he and she discover passion, joy and indepedence.the others are against, (he and she ,for one, think so!)and he is anxious about them but has decided to take control.
o on a concrete canvas under cover of dark
On a concrete canvas I go making my mark
Armed with the spray can soul
I'll be armed with the spray can soul
You, oh you 'cause you use your heart as a weapon
And it hurts like heaven whoa, whoa, it's true
When you use your heart as a weapon
And it hurts like heaven and it hurts like heaven
~in this part is the fight between the feelings of "i should" and "i'd love to" who make us wondering "why do i live? what is my purpose?".he has armed his heart with simple things which he loves and make him strong, like her smile of her supporting.he really believes in her who protects him with her heart...which hurts like heaven and he wishes he was shoot everyday with that weapon!
