#1 top rated interpretation:Cole's dad passed away right when he signed a record deal. And Cole wants his dad to be here and celebrate. I literally cried everytime I hear this.
-
2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:I think the song is about his father. Also it is the most perfect song I have ever heard and I changed the lyrics for my daughter Dakota who is in heaven she was 14 when she passed away jan22,2012. I say Dakota should be here standing with her arm around me here and other verses I have made up my own. What I wouldn't give to meet cole swindell and have him sing that song with my change on it...

At first I thought he was talking about his girlfriend who broke up with him and he wanted her to be there, but then I heard the lyric, "If I had one wish, it'd be that you didn't have to miss this" and I thought probably someone died. Like yeah, his dad. Which made it so much sadder...
-
Cole's dad died right when he signed a record deal if you were listening to the beginning when was talking on the phone, and when he says you should be here he's talking about his dad because he wishes he was there to say he's proud of him and he did a good job and he wants his dad to celebrate when him and the rest of his family and friends so that's basically what he's talking about in this song. Also at the very end of this song if you were watching or paying attention to the video than you saw when it should the date of his father's birth and the date when his father died, which was June 30, 1983- September 2, 2013. I hope you like this and share this with friends if you care and love the country artist Cole Swindell I have already shared this with 23 people so I hope you do this in loving memory for Cole's dad and him.
-
It was his Dad because at the end it says the same date he was born and when he died also when he comes back after along time of being gone his family gave him the truck his Dad left behind for him and if you watched the video his dad gave him a guitar before he died.
-
His dad passed away and he wishes he could be their for all the happy things so he can share with him.
-
I think that it is about his brother or dad passing away and well,he wants him to be there

Couldn't had sang a more beautiful song love it and is a tear jerker keep it up cole your one hell of a guy and singer.
-
I think that someone very important to him past away, and he is very sad about it. It is a very beautiful song in its own way, but people can tell that it has some very important meanings to it. Cole Swindell is an amazing singer, and people can tell that he has put a lot of emotion into this song while he was singing it.
