   I`m 32 yrs old and my mother once told me Lodi meant smokin on old die young and everytime John hit a slump he`d go back to the addiction hence the chorus believe what you will we talking hippie days and drugs were given code words

   Perhaps it's reminiscent of an experience John Fogerty had when he started into the music business...

   Lodi is the name of several US cities and the one in which John Foggerty is suspected of referring to in the CCR hit "Lodi" is in California. Hence: "Oh Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again."
