Cyndi Lauper: All Through The Night Meaning
Song Released: 1984
All Through The Night Lyrics
I'll be awake and I'll be with you
All through the night
This precious time when time is new
Oh, all through the night today
Knowing we feel the same without saying
We have no past, we won't reach back
Keep with me...
-
When love is new it is thrilling and exciting it’s
New and you want to spend every second with that person, we are together awake time has no meaning we stay awake together not even realising time has gone by so quickly…
The butterfly’s in your chest make it magical
New love we jump ahead we don’t look back we live dangerous we give it all not knowing what will come we risk it all.. -
I always thought it's about having a one night stand with a hooker.. "And once we start the meter clicks" - there's a time restraint - it also mentioned about cats singing - they do this when they're in heat.
-
It’s about vampires. The lingering night is all they share. The day comes and they are erased from being once more. Until it ends
It never ends -
This is my tribute to the song, on its 37th anniversary.
It's about a couple, twin souls, or twin flames if you will, who are forever united beyond the constraints of time and space.
During dreams in the night, one can access different dimensions and reality becomes more clear.
One of the partners of the couple (Cyndi) is consciously aware of her mate/twin and hopes to awaken her mate in this realm. She knows her mate feels something familiar, and she is trying to help her mate see this beautiful reality that is new to them.
Her Soul is driving her to make her mate see and evolve. She's assuring her mate that even though it is painful and terrifying, she's not going anywhere, ever. The mate might have chosen to forget the bond, due to the pain of perceived separation. The Union is actually pure. She is desperate to make her mate see, but doesn't hold out much hope, yet.
Just a quick glimpse of their bond of Love is enough to get her through and persist.
She assures her mate that their bond cannot be broken, and they will meet in different lives and dimensions, time after time.
The beautiful, ethereal part at the end of the song, is her Siren Song to her mate. -
Loving someone with no regrets. Being completely vulnerable to them. Just living life one night at a time
-
It’s about living with a person (lover or spouse) through a pandemic. The song was ahead of its time.
-
It is the nightly get together of a sleeping dreaming living soul and a visiting departed soul who were in love but apart now. They are only together all through the night.
-
It’s about two strangers making love in a car & it’s just going to be 1 night of bliss.
-
It's about hooker twins.
-
Run away children who has not a past they want to return to, only the moment living in the streets to survive the only way they can. The rare chance they find a night of peace resembling love they understand, wish it will never end.
-
It is about rocking a baby to sleep before putting it back in its crib.
-
It's about a hooker
