Magic Dance Lyrics
Babe with the power
What power?
Power of voodoo
Who do?
You do
Do what?
Remind me of the babe
I saw my baby crying hard as babe could cry, what could I do? My baby's love had gone and left my...

Toby represents Sarah's innocence, Jareth comes into her room tried to seduce her agrees to take away the "baby" she changes her mind and he blackmails her, lures her to his labyrinth capturing her whole time she is fighting to save the "baby" him being an older man she is trapped it is very hard for her to escape this situation, i see the song "magic dance" this way..."the babe with the power" - he tells Sarah "you have no power over me, the power is in her innocence. "my baby's love had gone and left my baby blue" shows the risks of her innocence being taken by an older man and how it will affect the teen, "what kind of magic spell to use" - she can not get back what is now gone, "magic dance" - a sexual innuendo. "make it free" - self explanatory "magic jump" - self explanatory.

I believe the song describes situations of caring for a child.
First part describes a baby that's crying hard and is upset so they are feeling "blue", and feeling confusion/panic not knowing what to do to make the baby "stop" crying. So the "magic" or remedy to this situation would be to dance to make them feel better.
Second part describes the birth of a child who who has not taken their first breath yet and is trying hard and they are turning "blue" and the feeling of panic/confusion of not knowing what to do. So the "magic" or remedy here would be what doctors traditionally do to babies in this situation which is to "slap" the baby to get them to cry so they can breath. In a sense "jump starting" their breathing.
Song portrays two seemingly opposing situations side by side of a babies cry and the joy of their crying or not crying, and overall just the magic and blessing it is to have and care for a child and their needs. Which I feel fits nicely into the scene where he is caring for the baby. -
Always loved this song but then realized
It kinda sounds like he's describing a child that's choking...kinda disturbing. -
This song is pretty hard to interpret but I was thinking that He’s talking about Sarah. Like, he’s referring to how she had been upset with her family and maybe she had been crying.
Then, by taking Her brother, she was, in a way, Free.
