Daya: Hide Away Meaning
Song Released: 2015
Hide Away Lyrics
The ones who get undressed before the second date
Girls seem to like the boys who don't appreciate
All the money and the time that it takes
To be fly as a mother
Got my both eyes out for Mr....

#1 top rated interpretation:The meaning of this song is about how girls get taken for granted, and how she sees girls doing the wrong thing to impress boys. Daya wants a good boy who loves and respects her.

To the person saying, this song is slut shaming and she's jealous and insecure I don't think so. You choose to shame yourself by being a slut. I doubt she's insecure because she has enough sense to NOT be a slut which takes A LOT of security. She's okay with who she is and doesn't do the WRONG things for male validation. She is not jealous of these girls, she pities them for doing the wrong things for a boy.

the song says it.

It's obvious just read the lyrics (not sing) and you will know trust me

Although the obvious meaning of the song can be interpreted as her just plainly asking "Where are all the good/nice boys and not the ones who will play with my heart?", it is also a song that slut shames girls. The song just screams insecure and jealousy to me, she feels the need to put down girls who do things that she doesn't like she's so "different and quirky". The meaning of the song is childish and immature

Well daya herself doesn’t have children so I don’t understand that “...fly as a mother” bit, unless she means “fly as a mother———“ you know? Idk very confusing, is it not hard to look fly if you aren’t a mother? I think It’s gotta be the second option anyone else have any ideas?

The Good Guys are actually hiding because they want to see if a good girl is actually a good girl and not putting up a show! These guys want to know what they are going into the relationship before it even begins. A women’s attractiveness and being FAKE can only go as far as throwing a big old heavy rock into the ocean from the shoreline. I mean, come on know, use your brain. There will always be weddings and divorces all around the world, let alone in The United States!
-
The meaning of this song is obvious. She wants to know why it is hard to find the good boys and abundantly easy to find the bad boys. She is asking where they go to hide.
