Dido: All You Want Meaning
Song Released: 2001
All You Want Lyrics
To hear you breathe by my side.
And although sleep leaves me behind
There's nowhere I'd rather be.
And now, our bed is oh, so cold.
My hands feel empty, no one to hold
And I can sleep what side I...

First verse
It tells the story of an ordinary, heterosexual couple. The narrator is a girl, she wakes up in an empty bed and wishes her boyfriend came back. The first chorus ("all you want is right here in this room") refers to her.
Second verse
The narrator reveals that they have been together for 3 years, but the boy had a one-night stand. She is pregnant ("if those seeds had not been sown") and still wishes he came back. In between, the narrator has not told her (now) former boyfriend that she is expecting their child ("you could come home and you would know").
Last verse
With regret, the narrator is convinced that her boyfriend will not come back, because he left her for another girl ("send my regards to her"). She will probably raise her child alone. The last chorus ("all you want is right there in that room") refers to the boy's new girlfriend.
