    I believe this is a song about becoming a mystic, getting in touch with the whole universe.
    "Look what I have found! A sea-shell in a sea of shells!"
    It's not so much that he has found a shell, so much as he realizes that the shell is apart of a great sea of shells, God.
    "We ended our difference of soul and brain. Forever we are changed."
    Rational mind versus irrational mind. Emotion versus logic. The speaker finds an inner-peace within himself, basking in the glory of the universe with what he found.
    There's something called the Underhill Model for mystical development. This song is stage 3, illumination.
