My Apocalypse Lyrics

There's a place that I've found
As far as I can see
This place lies within
The depths of my dreams
In a garden surrounded
By fire and trees
Through the smoke a silhouette I can barely see
There's a man with an axe
Standing in the...

I think that in this song there is a feeling of guilt that Ronne is trying to portray.

"There's a place that I've found, as far as I can see this place lies within the depths of my dreams"
    his conscience
there's a man with an axe...looked me staright in the eyes this is what he had to sya, never fall asleep you won't wake up destroy the guillotine...obviously whatever it is that his conscience is feeling guilty about will kill him. Symbolically.

"I walk with shadows...hiding from the gallows..."
    feeling guilty.
my assumption is that he did something bad to another person and he can't even look at them because he feels so guilty about it. Referring to "hiding from the gallows" as the other person.
"I need an earthquake to shake this pity off the ground"
he feels sorry for himself for committing such a monstrosity.

To me, this song is clearly about betrayal and love
    we all interpret things differently

theres a place that i found/ as far as i can see/ this place lies within/ the depths of my dreams/

    what do we all want?
love. period. we all want that someone.
to me it seems he "thinks' hes found the one but..

Inner garden surrounded/ by fire and trees/
    in the smoke a sillouette/ i can barely see/

In his own self made bliss with this woman, there are some things that dont make sence.
in his head, his safe place is a forest, but the forest is surrounded by fire,to me, meaning hes starting to see the truth of her actions (cheating), and the fire symbolizes his misunderstood rage, and as far as the sillouette, its the man shes cheating on him with, but he doesnt know who he is

theres a man with an axe/ standing in the rain/ looked me staight in my eyes/ this is what he had to say/

so now he knows that shes cheating for sure, and his inner bliss REALLy stats to come apart, hence, the rain, the man(cheater dude man) is there with the axe(his penis i guess or something) to begin to chop down his place of happiness, but before he does, hes going to tell him why

NEVER FALL ASLEEP!/ YOU WONT WAKE UP/
DESTROY THE GUILLOTENE/ BEFORE HE DOES/

the man is telling him to NEVER get comfortable with a woman, because once it gets to that point flaws begin to get realized, the challenge is done, game over, im guessing the guilottene represents his own pwer to end the relationship, cutting it off at the head, before the other man comes in and claims his girl, ending it for him, taking away that power

I WALK WITH SHADOWS/YOU HAVE TO FIND A BETTER WAY/I WALK WITH SHADOWS/ THE QUESTIONS I WILL NEVER SAY/ HIDING FROM THE GALLOWS/ THEY KEEP ME SAFE AND SOUND/SO I WALK WITH SHADOWS/ THE WAYS OF BURNING DOWN THIS HOUSE

He now walks with shadows because he didnt end it with her, he waited it out, he has to find a better way to cope, we all know what that feels like, he never asked her the questions that really mattered because he was to dran to his own self bliss, blinded by the lie, i think hidding from the gallows means he was considering suicide because he was so torn up, or that the gallows(death,we all have to face) is a reference for the undeny truth that even though she didnt tell me and that i dont know, one day she will have to answer for what she did AND she will suffer for it,
and burning down this house means that hes going to tear down the walls he built for her (forget about the relationship)

    End transmission/The satellites are down/
I need an earthquake/To shake this pity
    Off the ground/

The relationship is over. period. but he feels like he did something wrong to make her go astray. he feels bad for himself.

Just don't trust these liars at the door
    /you have to find a better way/
Kill the ones that have these answers/ for the questions I will never say

basically what hes saying is that once the inconsistency starts, believe that its the truth, shes cheating, or drifting away, you have to find a better way to handle it when it happens, and if you know shes cheating, she has the answer, kill the relationship, don't wait because she knows

    the rest is self explanatory
he finds a way, but it still haunts him

I honestly thought this song was about his drug addiction. I thought it was basically him telling himself "you have to get you sh*t together or else you'll probably die." He's saying he needs to "destroy the guillotine", with this guillotine being his vices, what's destroying him, the drugs. The whole "never fall asleep/you won't wake up" seems about overdosing.

I think this is about the fight between ronnie and Colquitt...
there's a place that I found as far as I can see

I think the place is about the venue where he met up Colquitt..he must be regret with what he have done before and maybe that's why this song is very depressing and the meaning are multiple

This song had had a very odd place in my life when I was about 10 years old I had a lucid dream very very very similar to the words discribed in this song it was dark and I was running from a man with an axe in the rain who was slowly following me eventually I couldn't run anymore and I hit my knees when I looked up he was standing there above me he swung the axe connecting it with my neck

Thats when I woke up horrified to find it was raining outside and I was on my knees in the center of my bed

Years later I hear this song on pandora and get goosebumps
It really discribed it to a t

I myself have struggled with depression and it sounds as if this could be what he was trying to get across but in all honesty that the man with an axe being yourself could be and even more one speech give during a preformed version of the song maybe basically he's saying that depression is a real struggle and to be leery of those you trust because like the man with an axe how can you even trust yourself

i think this song is about depression. if you understand depression to the most severe level, you can understand this song. it means you lose connectionnwith people "the satilites are down" you need an earthquake to hake this pitty off the gorund. you need to chamge your way of thinking. theres a man with an axe standing in the rain... destroy the guillotine before he does i walk with shadows to me is the hardest part. he wants to destroy the depression that will cause suicide, but why doesnt he want him to? because depression feels like it will never go away. theres so much to this song i relate with but vexes me.

i think this song is about running from your mind because your mind is trying to kill you, and you dont want to die so you have to hide in the shadows. but hiding in the shadows basically means hiding the real you and thats not what you want so "you have to find a better way". i think its also about being cautious in general, because you shouldnt trust everyone, they'll kill you while you're asleep (not always literally tho). the man with the axe who is warning you is someone in your own mind, to me that means that only you can save yourself. only you can prevent your apocalypse.

    hmm... i really don't think that someone w really trying to kill ronnie;
    i mean,
    it's like poetry;
some situations are meant to show feelings. i think it's guilt, not betrayal :s

Actually, this song was written when Ronnie had a fall out with the band The Gallows, nd Frank Carter sed to Ronnie, never fall asleep, you wont wake up, it was kinda a death threat, nd when it says, hiding from the gallows, its means Ronnie was constantly fearing them nd hiding from them... Trust me Ronnie and i was good mates x

This song is about betrayal; something Ronnie sings about often.

the man with the axe (an executioner?) tells him that he has to hide (he walks with shadows) and that he mustn´t fall asleep otherwise he will be killed.
He´s guilty for something, he needs the pity to be shaken off the ground

I think the person who wants to kill him is the death himself,
it seemes to be something supernatural

I think this song is talking about how Ronnie is somewhere and a man comes up telling him to "never fall asleep, you won't wake up" I think he was either telling Ronnie that someone wants to kill him, that he wants to kill Ronnie or that Ronnie is receiving the death penalty ("hiding from the gallows"). So the chorus (below) is saying that he has to run, to not be murdered.

    "I walk with shadows
(you have to find a better way)
    I walk with shadows
(the questions I will never say)
    Hiding from the gallows
(they keep me safe and sound)
    So I walk with shadows
(the ways of burning down this house)"
