A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More Touch Me Lyrics

I confess, I messed up
Droppin, "I'm sorry", like you're still around
And I know you dressed up
"hey kid, you'll never live this down"

You're just the girl all the boys want to dance with
And I'm just a boy who's using too many...

I think this song is about boy who's finally gotten up the guts to ask out the most popular girl in school hints the line "cause your just the girl all the boys want to dance with" after she's been giving him clear hints that she wants to got out with him. He probably taken a few of them but backed out of those too and then begged for her forgiveness again hints the line "i'm sleeping on your folks porch AGAIN". I guess cause this date was a really big deal he had to make a formal apology so he wrote this song.

he starts out by saying how sorry's no long going to cut it and how he shouldn't even bother going over to see if the girl is still wait for him at their agreed meeting. Also puts in how bad he feels about standing her up b/c he knows she got all dolled up for him and about how he knows she will never live down this embarrassment. However he then remembers that she’s the most popular girl in school and that the real person who’s going to suffer from this is him b/c he will probably never get another shot at a girl this fabulous again. Therefore he figures out that the only things to do is go to her house and stay there tell she forgives him

he’s hopes is that while he’s there that she will come out and he can explain why he deserves another change but he knows all she’s going to say is what are you waiting for; however since he’s only human and a guy he knows that he’s not going to listen to a thing she’s b/c she so damn hot she is and how if he just kisses her all his problems will go away but instead of doing he just promises to set clocks early b/c he knows he always late.

After he says this though she just roles her eyes and makes a comment like “whatever” and “that’s not going to happen.” And he retaliates by saying “write me off give up on me cause darling what did you expect.” Cause you just thing “I’m off a lost cause” fine “don’t event take this bet.” So he decides to prove her wrong by doing something like order a hotel sweet dressing it up all nice b/c he things if he has sex with her or something he’ll get back in her good graces. So he tells her all about that she should go up there to wait for b/c he going to come home and change since he all sweaty from working. However he get there and while he’s dressing his buddies come over and they start playing video games and he forgets all about the girl waiting for him in the hotel room and then once he’s back where he started.

Now I’m not quite sure how the bridge fits into things but if I had to guess based on what I’ve written above he wants to point out that she has flaws to and that she shouldn’t be so focused on his. But he’s not going to call her out on it b/c he doesn’t blame her for being her and the whole scenario starts all over again. She thinks about all this through out the final interlude and after its over he assures her that he defenatly will set his clocks early this b/c he knows he's always late

This is just my interpretation, but I think that the song is about a guy that is really into a girl, and at the same time, he hates how she is. She gives him a lot of chances and his friends try to help him out, then she gets fed up and moves on. Then he tries to get the relationship going by letting her do whatever, and so on... but that's only what I think about it. There are so many different ways to interpret Pete Wentz's songs. And I think that's what makes them appealing to people. I think that the video is kind of ridiculous, but it's very entertaining and interesting. I think that it relates to the song because "vampire Pete" only wants the one thing that he can't have back, his mortality, and he will do anything in his power to get it, but misses his chance for revenge.

I agree with whoever said the video (Sixteen Candles) and the song (Touch Me) are two different things because I think the song if about a guy who likes a popular girl, but the girl isn't interested (You're just the girl all the boys wanna dance with. And I'm just the boy who's had too many chances.) But the video is all about Pete being a vampire. :|

"I keep my jealousy close, and it's all mine" - his jealousy is the only thing he has, and no one else is taking it like they've taken everything else of his.

"And if you say this makes you happy then I'm not the only one lying" - they're both not being true to themselves or each other. They're saying and doing what they think the other one wants, because they're too afraid to face up to things and sort their problems out. They're both unhappy with their lives.

"Keep quiet, nothing comes as easy as you, can I lay in your bed all day? I'll be your best-kept secret and your biggest mistake, the hand behind this pen relives a failure every day" - again, he just wants to hide away, cuddle up in bed with her, just be happy in their little cocoon. He will be her biggest mistake because he will drag her down with his problems, but her best-kept secret because no one will realise the extent of his effect on her. He's telling her he writes down his emotions in songs, which should be a catharthic way of letting out pain, but actually, he's just reliving his pain every time he writes a song.

"So wear me like a locket around your throat, I'll weigh you down, I'll watch you choke, you look so good in blue, you look so good in blue" - his depression and dependence on her is going to drag her down. She feels tied to him because he needs her so much, and he's too weak to help himself or stop being a burden on her, so he just stands, watching her choke, crumble under the stress of the problems he's given her. He's almost loving the depression he's wallowing in, because he says she looks 'so good in blue' - blue being the colour of melancholy.

It's about how a guy is REALLY in love with this girl, but she doesn't feel the same for him. So, he is soooo desperate, he sleeps on her porch. She doesn't like him so she thinks he is weird and should "drop dead"

I think it's about this guy that's stalking a girl he likes thus the whole porch sleeping

she hates him and tells him to drop dead
and meanwhile this guy is slowly going crazy and he's trying to convince himself to kiss her

and the clock part is about him being late to stalk her or do whatever those stalker peple do

Does this rag smell like chloroform to you?
    No? Just wondering

This song can be interpreted in so many ways. I think it's about a guy that is in a relationship where he feels like he doesn't contribute enough. He says "I'm a lost cause" hinting at the fact that he can't help the way he is. I also think he lost her and he's trying to go back and fix everything... but he can't. He feels like she is too good for him and he can't do anything right. This song makes it evident that he has a guilty conscience.

I think it's about how this hot girl celebrates her sixteenth birthday and invites her boyfriend along, only he sets his hair on fire with the 16 candles by mistake and the girl laughs at him so the boy slaps her and says, "I don't blame you for being you, but MY HAIR IS ON FIRE!"

And then she punches the boy so hard he dies on her front porch, and he sighs and moans ... AFTER he dies. So the girl gets freaked out and starts saying, "ARGH!!" and all the Spirits of the Dead says to the dead boy, "Kiss her!! Kiss her!!"
And the girl says, "NO! Why don't you just drop dead?!"
And the boy says, "I AM dead."

    And the girl commits suicide.

I think it's about a guy and a girl that have spilt up, but the guy wants to get back with the girl but she's not interested, hence the line "I'm sleeping on your folks porch again, dreaming, she saidx3 why don't you just drop dead". Although there's qualities about her that he doesn't like "I Don't blame you for being you, but you can't blame for hating it". He'll still do anything to be with her.

I totally agree that this song is about a boy who is in love with a girl and doesn't want to rush into the realtionship or pressure her. However his friends want him to hurry up and "Kiss her, kiss her" and and make him aware that he is acting slowly. He becomes aware of this mentioned in "I set my clock early 'cause I know I'm always late."
