Fall Out Boy: Saturday Meaning
Song Released: 2003
Saturday Lyrics
And I'm going nowhere fast
It could be worse
I could be taking you there with me
I'm good to go
But it looks like I'm still on my own
I'm good to go
For something golden
Though the motions I've been going through have...
-
Hmm.. Astoria is a venue in London! Thats what I thought it meant..
-
I think it's a mix of everyone's interpretations. It's about someone who's bored with normal life and is trying to hit it big but also nervous about if they'll fail. like when they say "I've never really lived more than an hour" they mean when they play they feel alive and so they're trying so hard to feel like that and do it for a job. It has nothing to do with suicide it's about taking a chance at doing what you have passion for.
-
The Ataris song, "so long astoria" is actually in reference to the film "the goonies" so I don't think it has anything to do with this song
-
The whole excitement of a show is probably right, Astoria is a gig venue in london, so maybe they done a gig they and are looking forward to the next gig
-
The Ataris have a song calles "So Long, Astoria".
Fall Out Boy is excited bringing back that style of music.
'Cause the lyrics are "Pete and I attacked the lost Astoria with promise and percision and a mess of youthful innocence."
They're excited about all the possibilities they have with music.
This song is not about suicide. -
Astoria-A city of northwest Oregon near the mouth of the Columbia River if that means anything. That's what it said on dictionary.com so w/e
-
It's about regretting the way they've been living their life. He watched people take life for granted and let it pass them by and swore he would never do that himself, except he fianlly realizes he did do it, and now he is talking about all his regret of never really living life. That's what I gathered but I'm probably wrong.
-
What does "Pete and I attacked the laws of Astoria" mean then?
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I read this song was about them getting their big break as a band, "two more weeks, my foot is in the door"... and just waiting until saturday so that they can play their next show and take that next step.
