Heroine Lyrics

Oh mother, is it hard to recognize me now?
Mother, why can't you recognize me now?

I've sent my letters, "everything's fine"
but I lied

Little boy
Little man
I've lost my name

Heroine, oh heroine
Where have you been when I needed...

I agree with the last person.
This song was just one of the few that describe what and how sonny was feeling when he found out about the adoption. The whole "Heroine" album talks about difficult times he had to face its common sense.

This song is about Sonny's adoption. He wrote three songs on the recent album which include Heroine, Afterbirth, and some other song. (Maybe "The Crows are Coming for Us" or "Waves Goodbye.") All of them about the effects of the news of his adoption on him.

Alright, I don't know what this song is about, really. But I really wanna find out.

Every time I listen to this song though, I'm always going through some hard times.

I know it's not about anything happy...
